Our Full Service Rigging Shop staffed with experienced Riggers can assist you with any type of rigging that you may need for your boat. Whether it is your Cruiser taking you to exotic locations to your highly technical and fast Racing Machine. We do it all. Our prices are very competitive with the major chain stores. What we offer customers is great service, friendly advice, and difficult to find services.
We offer all types of line splicing; from three strand, double-braid, core to core, to mega-braid we have the right rope for your needs. Our extensive supply of cordage from New England Ropes, FSE Robline and others means that we will have the rope you need. Types of line include nylon, polyester, Vectran, and Dyneema. Whether you are looking to replace or upgrade to a high tech halyard or looking to lighten up your weight aloft we have what you are looking for.
Other services include; Custom dock lines, mooring lines, and anchoring packages. Is your Mooring gear getting old or do you have a new mooring? Then look no further. We supply the complete package of chain, rope, and swivel. Our huge inventory of nylon rope includes many colors and sizes up to 1” in diameter. By performing the work on-site, we are able to provide the correct size eye for any situation. Our riggers developed the floating dinghy towing bridal, featuring New England Dinghy Tow Rope. We also manufacture custom dinghy lifts out of Spectra or wire.
We provide complete lifeline services, from repair to replacement. If yours are getting old, starting to rust, or if you need to comply with ORC regulations, we can helpl. What ever the case may be, our riggers can get you set up right. Our swaging machinery allows us to work on standing rigging up to 3/8” diameter. Need work done aloft? We offer complete aloft mast services. Our riggers will climb your mast to fix any problem, from bulb replacement to equipment installation. We are dealers of Harken, Schaeffer, and Profurl furling systems. Whether you need routine maintenance or complete replacement, our riggers are here to help. We have a worldwide reputation for our custom leather work. If you are looking to have your wheel leathered, or need custom turnbuckle or spreader boots made, look no further. The Rigging Department has covered some of the most famous racing yachts; steering wheels with leather and/or pro-grip. We have also done custom Spreader boots for Mega Yachts, so no job is too big or too small.
Our new location on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport offers the same great experience. We are able to bring our services from our Ship Store boat directly to yours, whether it is on a mooring or dock. The Ship’s Store has its own 20’ Center Console Motor boat to get us to where you are.
